Kubeadapt MCP

Connect Claude Code

Add Kubeadapt to Claude Code with one command, sign in from /mcp, and ask about cluster costs and rightsizing next to your manifests.

Claude Code works with your Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts; with Kubeadapt connected it also knows what those workloads cost and what they actually use. Ask it to rightsize a Deployment and it can read Kubeadapt's recommendation and edit the manifest in your repository.

Add Kubeadapt

Run this in your terminal:

bash
claude mcp add --transport http kubeadapt https://mcp.kubeadapt.io/mcp

The server is added for the current project. To use Kubeadapt in every project, add it for your user instead:

bash
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user kubeadapt https://mcp.kubeadapt.io/mcp

To share it with your team through the repository, use --scope project; Claude Code writes it to .mcp.json, and each person signs in with their own Kubeadapt account.

  1. Start Claude Code and run /mcp.
  2. Select kubeadapt, then Authenticate.
  3. Kubeadapt opens in your browser. Sign in, choose the kinds of data and the clusters Claude Code may read, and select Allow Access.

/mcp then lists kubeadapt as connected, with its tools.

Ask Claude Code

Rightsize the deployment in k8s/api/deployment.yaml using Kubeadapt's recommendation for saas/api on the prod cluster. Show me the diff before changing anything.

Claude Code calls get_rightsizing_plan, which returns the recommended requests and limits with a YAML patch, and proposes the edit. Kubeadapt never changes your cluster; the change goes through your own review and deployment process.

Kubeadapt's prompts are available as slash commands, for example /mcp__kubeadapt__weekly-cost-review and /mcp__kubeadapt__rightsize.

Disconnect

bash
claude mcp remove kubeadapt

Ending the connection under Settings → Kubeadapt MCP → Connections in the Kubeadapt app takes effect immediately as well.
