Kubeadapt MCP

Connect Cursor

Install Kubeadapt MCP in Cursor with one click or a few lines in mcp.json, sign in once, and ask the agent about costs and rightsizing while you edit manifests.

With Kubeadapt connected, Cursor's agent knows what the workloads in your repository cost and use. Ask it to rightsize a Deployment, or to check what a change to a node pool would save, and it reads the answer from Kubeadapt.

Install with one click

Add Kubeadapt to Cursor

Cursor opens and asks you to confirm the server. Select Install.

Or add it to mcp.json

Add Kubeadapt to ~/.cursor/mcp.json to use it in every project, or to .cursor/mcp.json in a repository to share it with your team:

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "kubeadapt": { "url": "https://mcp.kubeadapt.io/mcp" }
  }
}

Each person still signs in with their own Kubeadapt account.

Sign in

  1. Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP. Kubeadapt is listed and asks you to sign in.
  2. Select Connect. Kubeadapt opens in your browser.
  3. Sign in, choose the kinds of data and the clusters Cursor may read, and select Allow Access.

Back in Cursor, Kubeadapt shows its tools and a green status.

Ask the agent

Using Kubeadapt, get the rightsizing plan for the checkout deployment in the shop namespace on prod, then update the resources in deploy/checkout.yaml to match. Keep the memory limit at least 25% above the recommended request.

Cursor shows each Kubeadapt tool call; every tool only reads. You can let Cursor run Kubeadapt tools without asking in its auto-run settings.

Disconnect

Turn Kubeadapt off or delete it under Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP, or end the connection under Settings → Kubeadapt MCP → Connections in the Kubeadapt app.
