Kubeadapt MCP

Connect Codex

Add Kubeadapt MCP to OpenAI Codex with two commands and use cluster cost and rightsizing data from the Codex CLI and IDE extension.

Connect Kubeadapt to OpenAI Codex and it can read what your workloads cost and use while it works in your repository. The Codex CLI and the Codex IDE extension share the same configuration, so connecting once covers both.

Add Kubeadapt and sign in

bash
codex mcp add kubeadapt --url https://mcp.kubeadapt.io/mcp
codex mcp login kubeadapt

codex mcp login opens Kubeadapt in your browser. Sign in, choose the kinds of data and the clusters Codex may read, and select Allow Access.

The first command adds this to ~/.codex/config.toml, if you prefer to edit it yourself:

toml
[mcp_servers.kubeadapt]
url = "https://mcp.kubeadapt.io/mcp"

Ask Codex

Check Kubeadapt for rightsizing recommendations in the payments namespace on prod and update the matching manifests under k8s/payments. Explain each change.

Run /mcp in the Codex CLI to see Kubeadapt and its tools.

Disconnect

bash
codex mcp logout kubeadapt
codex mcp remove kubeadapt

You can also end the connection under Settings → Kubeadapt MCP → Connections in the Kubeadapt app.
